Posted by izan on April 4, 2004 5:45 PMoh i forgot to ask... the pink and white daisies, are they plastic or chocolate?
Posted by izan on April 4, 2004 5:47 PMHeartbreakingly gorgeous. I am, as always, in awe of you, Clotilde!
Posted by Jackie on April 4, 2004 9:10 PMJane and Michael Stern have a cookbook called "Square Meals". They redo a Lilly Pons "Pink Party" in it. Lots of fun. A little late, but still a read you may enjoy.
Posted by bryan on April 5, 2004 1:14 AMA big company I worked for in the 1980s refurbished their offices in oh so trendy tones of pink and grey. So we in the IT dept had a "pink" tea party where we had pink food and all wore pink clothes .... the rest of the company just thought we were odd.
Our food wasn't impressive as yours though.
Posted by Helen on April 5, 2004 2:07 AMHow delightful!
Posted by Karen on April 5, 2004 4:15 PMscrumptious! you must have done a very good job.
Posted by josie on April 5, 2004 8:49 PMIzan - The pink bottles had Perrier Fluo Rose in them : Perrier is a sparkling water, and they have created a new line of brightly colored ("fluorescent") flavored waters. The pink one is cherry ginger! Interesting taste, but a little artificial...
I didn't buy the straws myself so I'm not sure, but they may indeed come from Ikea, or maybe from Habitat, a home and kitchen store a bit similar to Crate&Barrel, I don't know if you know it.
As for the daisies, they are made of wafer paper. So they are edible, but tasteless! Aren't they pretty?
Bryan - Thanks for pointing me to that book, I'll take a peek! One of my favorite cookbook authors, Trish Deseine, has a book on parties in which she has several color-themed buffets. Her pink buffet is in fact pink and orange jointly. She has a wonderful black and white one, too!
Helen - Sounds like a cool IT team! :) And it's even more fun when other people think you're odd, no?
Jackie, Karen and Josie - Glad you like it!
