Oh Look! Here's Lunch!

The Périgord is the best place on Earth to actively enjoy all things duck. Foie gras, magret, confit, gésiers, grattons, frittons... you name it, we eat it!
It seemed only fair that I should give this group of little fellows (whom we met just outside the teeny village of Carlucet) their fifteen minutes of fame!
Never miss a recipe!

15 minutes seulement? C'est vraiment dommage! :-)
Posted by Seattle Bon Vivant on September 17, 2004 12:39 AMYou've just reminded me of one of the happiest holidays I've ever had: a choir tour around the Périgord back in 1998. Delicious food, fabulous accommodation, good concerts, and glorious weather. I must go back sometime...!
Posted by nattie on September 17, 2004 1:39 AMThe title made me laugh out loud! Nine years ago, we drove from Paris, through all the small villages we could find, on our way to Toulouse. On the first sighting of a pen of large birds, I said to Jean-Yves, "are those geese or ducks?". "That is fois gras!", was the response.

Posted by Karen on September 17, 2004 6:21 PMWe went through Gascony and Perigord on a trip a few years ago and for a person who has never really liked liver of any sort, I was totally blown away by the foie gras there. Lucky you!
