Posted by Dreska on February 6, 2006 1:22 PMLooking forward to it.
clothilde, i live in london, and olive is one of the best food and travel magazines over here. i'm so happy for you to feature in it! keep up the good work.
congratulations!
warm regards
Posted by yasmine tannir on February 6, 2006 5:04 PMHow exciting. Wish we got the magazine here (USA-Georgia).
Clotilde - I've been meaning to ask you about the restaurant in the movie -- "Something's Gotta Give" with Jack Nicholson and Diane Keaton. It's one of my favorites and her favorite restaurant in the movie is "le Grand Coubert" (I think). Is this still a place a person would want to fly all the way to Paris for their birthday dinner?

Just wanted to say that many Barnes & Noble and Borders bookstores in the U.S. carry British magazines. I've seen "Olive" in mine -- be watchful that it's the U.K. version (and not an Australian one!)
Posted by Bindu on February 6, 2006 6:18 PMJanice, i've been to Le Grand Colbert and it is really special, you feel transported to a different world..
Posted by yasmine tannir on February 6, 2006 6:20 PMMy husband proposed to me over there ;)
Olive is available in many larger independent bookstores in the US as well as at some Borders and Barnes and Noble locations. See post http://clickblogappetit.blogspot.com/2005/10/commonwealth-of-magazines.html
for more info
It is a good magazine and can be worth the $8 - $9 it costs in the states, especially if Clotilde's article is in it!
Posted by Creampuff on February 6, 2006 8:31 PMWow, I never even heard of this magazine. Shoot-Now I want to subscribe to it!! Thanks for sharing your recommendations outside of your article, I might see if I can try and track it down somewhere. What a great list, and none are familiar to me.
Posted by Mona on February 6, 2006 9:32 PMIs there an Australian version of Olive?
Olive is a great magazine!
delicious. is also very good-- it, in fact, has an Australian (charter version) version and was so incredibly successful in Australia that they did a UK version as well. I have picked up all three copies in the U.S., in both New York and in Nashville.
And, for those of you who don't know UK magazines (and Australian ones) they have this great marketing idea of giving fantastic prizes to the best Letters to the Editor, so be sure you write in a really sophisticated letter praising Clotilde's work and maybe you'll get STAR LETTER of the Month!!
(I won Star Letter of the Month a year ago (unintentionally) and they sent me a Limited Edition Cuisinart Food Processor, the Cast Metal 14-cup one! wowowowowow)
Posted by Three Layer Cake on February 6, 2006 11:07 PMOlive is my absolute favourite magazine, its really excellent. Another one worth checking out is Gourmet Traveller, published in Australia.
Congrats on the article by the way, I will be buying my copy today!
Posted by GastroChick on February 7, 2006 11:46 AMJust bought Olive -- and just in time because I'm off to Paris for a week. The writing is, as usual, excellent and sincere congrats on the piece!
Posted by michele on February 7, 2006 1:33 PMI was able to find Olive at the lcoal Borders, however, they only had the January issue. Can't reserve a magazine so I guess I am now committed to regular visits until I can latch on to the March issue.
Posted by Neil on February 7, 2006 3:31 PMOh I love Olive! Off to London this weekend I will surely pick up a copy to get inspired as I will be in Paris next :)
Posted by Andreea on February 7, 2006 9:16 PMJust great coincidences! So happy you wrote for them.
Hi Clotilde - thanks again for your great article, I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Posted by keiko on February 10, 2006 11:25 AMclotilde,
picked this up today, finally, although have not had a chance to look at anything else but your article. it looks great, congrats! great accompanying pictures, too (were you with the photographer when it was shot?) - & now i need to start plotting my next (hopefully during spring) trip to paris.
Posted by serena on February 10, 2006 4:18 PMThese are great restaurant recommendations. I have a lot of clients who will be interested in these, I will send them your way. Merci mille fois.

Posted by Lesley on February 13, 2006 3:07 AMHi Clotilde,
I live in Dorset/UK and as soon as I saw your post I went to Borders to get me a copy of Olive magazine. Your article is great, very informative and sweet, like your blog. And your picture on the editors' page is simply cute! Congratulations!
Posted by Marcia on February 17, 2006 2:47 PMWhat a great article. Came in handy last week while I was in Paris. We had a fabulous meal at Les Papilles and sadly missed out on some good pastries at Pain de Sucre (they were closed for the week!). Congrats on the article. Looking forward to the next one!
Posted by Hallie on February 21, 2006 11:02 AManyone have a copy to sell to me?
Posted by mimi(cigalechanta) on April 23, 2006 5:51 AMWhen does the book come out?
Olive and delicious. are both excellent foodie magazines and I actually found out about Clotilde's blog from the articles!
And I'm so glad I visited!
Posted by Bonnie on April 27, 2006 1:46 PMHi Clotilde,
I am off with my boyfriend for a short two day stay in Paris, actually, we are going to a concert of Bossa Nova king Sergio Mendes in the Casino. The hotel you suggested Axial Beaubourg look absolutely great! Any ideas where to book for good prices? Also, any other tips websites I should check?
Thanks a lot!
