Almost 6 months after Katrina darkened our shores, we responded like any self respecting New Orleanians would do ... We threw a Party!!!!
Not turning our back on the work that remains mind you, but a brief respite, a celebration of what good remains, before we return to the grim task of rebuilding...and REBUILD WE WILL!!!!!!!!!!
Tommorow begins the solemn season of Lent, and the entire city will re-dedecite itself to the still monumental job of rebuilding.....but for today it was fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Many thanks for all the good thoughts and help that has out-poured from the members of this forum your support and help have helped make the past 6 months bearable
Happy Mardi Gras!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! _________________ I would like a gin martini, straight up, olives on the side, as dry as my wit, as clean as my conscience.

| a couple of years ago, Mardi Gras fell on my bday (joy of joys!) and my bday present from my dad was a 4 day trip to NO. had tons of fun, even if my stickler dad wouldn't let me drink (under-age you see) and stayed right in the heart of the French Quarter to boot. |

Someone sent one of the people in my office a Mardi Gras King cake and he shared it with the rest of us. We all went into sugar shock! But it was good!

Glad to hear the party went on, and especially that the people who live there wanted it. Party on Pesto Man! _________________ Approach love and cooking with reckless abandon. - The Dalai Lama |
