Avignon in Jun-July

Hi all, I will be studying abroad in Avignon in June and July and staying behind for around two weeks, probably spending a few days in Italy and Paris. Do any of you seasoned travelers have advice for me? Thanks a bunch!

All I can say crystalball is you are one very LUCKY person! Avignon is a lovely, lovely little city. Read up on it's history and enjoy, enjoy, enjoy. What will you be studying?

I love the Sunday brunch at the Hotel de l'Europe, one of many hotels where Napoleon actually stayed. Very atmospheric, kind service, great food, reasonable prices for this quality. Hope it helps!

Avignon is one of my very favourite towns... It is unique... and the history of the Palais des Papes is fascinating, as is the nursery rhyme "sur le pont d'Avignon, on y danse......"etc...

I can only suggest that you read up as much as you can about the town, so that you will have a real feeling for it when you arrive....and experience to the full what may be one of the best times in your life ! Laughing
