ah...so you're intrigued
have come across this article:
http://www.smh.com.au/news/world/being-perfects-too-good-to-be-true/2007/02/13/1171128954301.html
read a report on New York Fashion Week...where two toilet cleaners spoke of the smell of vomit in the toilets....maybe all those skeletal gals were simply nervous...or not...
achingly sad...the expressions on those faces...achingly... _________________ "I've never accepted the external appearance of things as the whole truth. The world is much more elaborate than the nerves of our eye can tell us." - James Gleeson |

....or not...., I think Madame
The title of the article
Being perfect's too good to be true
I think I'd rather turn it around to
Being perfect's too true to be good
All you have to do to see 'perfection' is look at the Dove Ad on youtube. Brilliant, done by a young Adelaide guy. _________________ Doing what you like is freedom

That's really sad to read that people who "succeed" in a highly competitive "glamour" job like that aren't even as happy in their jobs as the people who work in offices for a small portion of the salary.
That should be required reading for young girls everywhere. _________________ God writes a lot of comedy... the trouble is, he's stuck with so many bad actors who don't know how to play funny. -- Garrison Keillor |

well Rainey Darlin'....spread it!
ah, one day more and more folk will nod with the knowledge that all those red carpet beauties have had more than many hours work done on them...and those who can't breath in the dresses they've chosen...who can't eat for a day or two because they have chosen ...or have had chosen for them..a dress that requires no eating...
those whose diet consists of cigarettes and coffee....
yikes...
and we have a culture...certainly the main body of the fashion culture ..that turns mostly a blind eye to the epidemic of eating disorders among the model world...
emaciated figures in the desert are seen as tragic figures...however if a similar figure, with the name Stella Tennant, dons a miniscule Chanel bikini we are expected to say "WOW!"
According to a recent Prevention/NBC Survey,
60% of women have dieted or are on a diet,
44% of women refuse to be photographed in a swimsuit,
and 37% of women won't play beach games while wearing swimsuits.
There are over one million anorexic women in the UK alone.
In years to come, this period in our history will be seen as so odd... _________________ "I've never accepted the external appearance of things as the whole truth. The world is much more elaborate than the nerves of our eye can tell us." - James Gleeson |

Thing is... everyone is perfect. Let me explain he said stepping up on his orange crate!
To be perfect is to be incomparable, non? Well as we are all unique beings, we cannot be compared to another. Madame is the only Madame of her kind anywhere. So she cannot be compared to a lesser or greater Madame. Therefore she is perfect - incomparable. The same is true for all of us... well except me... I am a perfect nuisance, but that's another story... hem, hem!
Equally, nobody is perfect because perfect as a value does not exist. Whose criteria is used to define it?
So we are both perfect and un-perfect at the same time! (I told you I was a perfect nuisance, didn't I?!)
All the amazing women I have known and do know... I never understood why they don't see their own amazing-ness the way I do. I mean other than that they are not seeing themselves through my eyes! They are funny, witty, sweet, intelligent, courageous, passionate and utterly, utterly beautiful to me.
There are even those women I call my Athenians after the wise goddess... they have inspired me, taught me about life and about me, made me laugh and think... and I love, admire, respect and trust them. My life would be a little less than it is without them having been the signposts on the path of my life.
I feel so sad for these young models who have allowed themselves to be driven in this way - at the expense of themselves. As Geoff Chaucer wrote, 'Too dear bought she beauty.' They are not objects, but human beings and therefore more precious than the most expensive dress they could ever wear. _________________ Confusion comes fitted as standard. |

PERFECT prose, PERFECT theory, Griffin. Wished so much that realily could get closer even a little % to this PERFECT theory.
No more war. One can dream about that. And about feeling unique and perfect. Dreams do come true sometimes. |

Judy, Simona,
You are both uniquely incomparable... paragons of yourselves! Ahem, I might even venture to say PERFECT paragons... according to my criteria of course!
A lot like that Clotilde who is perfectly wonderful to read and a perfectly wonderful cook... I am definitely going to try Tante Amelie's cake. I may have to gather up my courage first, but once I've screwed my courage to the sticking place, I'll not fail... as Billy the Kid once said. Er that would be Billy Shakespeare the Kid of course! _________________ Confusion comes fitted as standard. |

Thank you David... can I tell the judge you said it was ok?!
Simona,
I am definitely an English euphemism!!! Also, I agree, all of us paragons (and cyclists!... and cycling jews too!) deserve to live in peace... unless you're a cook and then you deserve to live in peas.
Sorry, I just couldn't help myself! Did I mention I was a perfect nuisance? _________________ Confusion comes fitted as standard. |

Griffin ....methinks if we get you onto the front of Time mag..as Wiseman of the Year...the message of uniqueness would travel far and wide...and all 6 'n a bit billion of us will come to see the wonder of ONE...that each make up the wonder of the 6 'n a bit billion...
our culture encourages dissatisfaction...our silly billy culture at times...
ah...as I remember...all being well ...all manner etc..
