Important note on the availability of the UK edition

Some of you may have noticed that the book's page on the British Amazon lists strange dispatch delays and sourcing fees. That's because of a stock issue: apparently, high winds and rain meant the port had a backlog of containers to empty (!) so the books are just a bit late.

This will be resolved by Monday, May 21st, and the Amazon.co.uk orders will be sent on that day. It may take a few more days for Amazon to change the details on the website though, so please ignore the delay information that they're giving. Sorry for the inconvenience!

Fortunately for me, my local bookshop is getting it for me, so hopefully I won't have those delays. Which should mean that I shall be reading through it very soon! ...Hurrah!

I used to work for a publishing company that did some of its printing in Asia. One day we received a call from the shipping company. They told us they ship in which one of our most-awaited titles was coming had been through a storm and some of its containers had got lost in the high seas. Everyone at the company suddenly started remembering their Catholic childhoods (this being Spain) and praying like crazy Shocked

! It must have worked because our containers came in safely. But it was a hellish fortnight until we got the books, because we had invested so much money in the launch and our distributors had placed a lot of orders... So all my sympathy to your British publisher, he mustn't be having an easy time right now.

Thanks for letting us know. I ordered my UK version from the German Amazon and now it's marked as not even available there. I'm bravely holding on to my order, which says it is now supposed to ship in July, hoping that they're not screwing around me.

I pondered the possibility of ordering the US version instead, but I'd rather have the 'right' measurements. Conversing ingredient measurements gives me headaches. Wink

My UK edition from amazon uk (ordered about 6 weeks back) has been dispatched today, hoorah!

I also noticed that amazon uk are now saying that the UK edition is in stock so hopefully they've all arrived on dry land and should be relatively straightforward to order now.

Looking forward to getting my hands on it!

My copy arrived today. Yay for that. I think it was shipped over from the UK, but actually I don't mind as long as I have it finally. I checked it shortly when I was in the supermarket and I may try out some lovely cookies this weekend - if I'm not too busy on the couch reading Smile
