Hello All,
Just wanted to introduce myself. I came across these forums by accident and am quite excited about it. Looks like a lot of good stuff here! I'm 24 and live in Chicago, IL USA with my husband and a few tomato plants and a window full of herbs. I love to cook, garden, read, travel, craft... all sorts of stuff. I look forward to making everyone's acquaintance and getting involved in the boards! _________________ http://apartmentfarm.wordpress.com

Welcome to C&Z, kitchensqueen. We're happy to have you here. I'm going to be in Chicago in a couple of weeks for 2 days. Any recommendations on what and where to eat, and what to see and do? _________________ Doing what you like is freedom

Oh, definitely! My all-time favorite restaurant is Bistro Campagne (www.bistrocampagne.com). Best French food in the city! I also like Leona's (www.leonas.com)-- they are a local chain of American-style food. And make sure you get a hotdog while you're here-- Chicago has a lot of great hotdog stands, but my favorite is Superdawg (www.superdawg.com). They have great dogs and it's still a working drive-in complete with carhops!
What to do depends on what you like. Definitely spend some time at the lakefront; it's great. You can rent bikes and ride up and down the Lakeshore Bike Path. Check out the Ferris Wheel at Navy Pier for commanding views of the city. They also have mini golf and a Merry Go Round at Navy Pier too. Our city has a lot of great thrift stores, used bookstores and cafes if you're into that. Whenever us Chicagoans are looking for something to do, two websites are indispensible-- www.metromix.com and www.chireader.com. You'll have a lot of fun! _________________ http://apartmentfarm.wordpress.com

Um...sorry to be a butt-insky but I just have to recommend Nancy's pizza on North Broadway. The crust is amazing and sauce, to die for! But it takes a long time to cook, so only go there if you have a good hour plus.

I noodle around in erratic ways so I've seen this well after we've exchanged several conversations. Nevertheless, I hope it isn't too late to say I'm so glad you found the forums and reinvigorated them with the pleasure of "newness". Hope you'll enjoy "oldness" or comfortable familiarity too. _________________ God writes a lot of comedy... the trouble is, he's stuck with so many bad actors who don't know how to play funny. -- Garrison Keillor |

Oh what fun! Three people. Three flags. One table of friends. LOVE it! _________________ God writes a lot of comedy... the trouble is, he's stuck with so many bad actors who don't know how to play funny. -- Garrison Keillor |

Actually four flags!
Three of them red white and blue,
one red white and maple.
Who is the designated driver? |
