| I'm traveling to Rome in mid-October and am looking for suggestions of good, local places to dine. Not interested in touristy-type places, but good, off the beaten path experiences would be great! |

I've only been to Rome once and so can't recommend with authority... but I came across this blog while researching answers to my own questions about food havens in Europe. It's written by an expat living in Rome... kind of interesting, I think.

| Yes! Fiore di Zucca, near Villa Borghese. It was fabulous! My husband and I were staying in a hotel near there, and we just happened upon it while we were out walking. It is very much a local eatery, where everyone is speaking Italian, and they use fresh, local ingredients. The chef sent out fried stuffed zuchinni blossoms to our table, and I had sauteed chicken with porcini mushrooms that were fabulous! I am not a mushroom fan! |
