Dear all,
I just wanted to let you know I've been asked to be a judge in Softies Central's Holiday Softie Award -- softies are those cute little stuffed characters that have become quite popular amongst craftistas over the past few years.
The category I will judge (i.e. have to select my five favorite entries) is Holiday Smorgasbord (softie holiday food: gingerbread, fruitcake, milk & cookies, turkey dinner, mashed potatoes, ham, Hanukkah gelt, latkes, etc.) and I thought perhaps some of you might want to participate.
If so, you have until October 31st to enter. Good luck!

Not much time to compete with some of the lovely, whimsical, charming things there! I don't envy you having to make a choice. _________________ God writes a lot of comedy... the trouble is, he's stuck with so many bad actors who don't know how to play funny. -- Garrison Keillor
What fun! I especially like the crocheted corn by alicia954--she has done traditional dried Indian corn as well as tri-color triangular candy corn!
Also , erin*berry has made a carrot lady (of felt, I think) offering turkey dinner, and the details are sweet-- she's got Christmas ornament balls in her carrot-top greenery, and sides dishes to serve with the bird--even a little plate of peas.
I have (but did not *make*) a satin ice cream cone creature, and a little soft Passover Seder plate with the traditional foods all made of plush! I had NO idea fabric food was so popular.
