Poor Tom! I agree complete madness. It was 30 degrees this morning before the sun came up at my house (hot, not embarrassed)
They say there might be RAIN on Thursday!! I'm not holding my breath however.
I live just outside Williamstown now, it wasn't nearly so bad as the Willunga one but still pretty scary. I'm glad Greg's house was ok. |

Keeping fingers crossed our Aussie mates get their rain!!
Gingerpale---a shovel and broken back won't cut this stuff! My driveway is over 200 m long. We used to own a tractor with a snow blower attachment that Dick used to clear our drive, but afte Dick had his stroke I sold it because i just am not made for heavy equipment! So my current heavy equipment is a guy named Terry who lives across the road and owns a snow blow that he uses to service (currently) 29 of us. I shovel out around the back door of course and shovel a pathway to the car and have had to shovel out the car a few times (can't get to the garage, too much snow piled up in front of it) Oh and I had to shovel a trench from the driveway to the oil intake pipe so I have heating oil, and of course I have an extra shovel in the car to dig myself out when I get stuck! Going up to +2 today!!! _________________ Vivant Linguae Mortuae!! |

Well after the last big snowfall I took some more pictures and just had my friend Ted add them to the original series. So if interested you can revisit http://david-farm.slide.com the first one in the new series is actually an older picture from a few years back showing what a normal winter would throw at us! _________________ Vivant Linguae Mortuae!! |

Wow, David--it makes you worry/wonder about NEXT winter, doesn't it!!
We in Utah got another 2 inches night before last, but I have a feeling that's how much you knock off your toothbrush every morning!
'Toothbrush' came to mind because all my teeth ache (and my mouth waters and my hands sweat) from ENVY when I see that incredible house of yours...
Is it possible that some of the snow in your pics (the highest piles in the shade) will
still be there when snow falls again late in this year? |

The snow this winter is supposed to be an aberration---it's been almost double the regular amount! But when it goes it will go quickly! Actually we will lose a good portion of it this next week as it is supposed to be above freezing every day (enfin). _________________ Vivant Linguae Mortuae!! |
