I am going tonight to San Francisco to see Clotilde and get a book! CAn't wait!
I'll take some pics - and maybe even be able to load them onto this site! If the Cybergods are willing!
I am still sad this book wasn't out in time for my trip in February!
However, I must say that the C& Z'ers all had brilliant ideas for my edible adventures while we were there! So - I can'tcomplain! _________________ L'appetit vient en mangeant. -Rabelais |

Oh, Donna, I am going to miss you or you to miss me. I will be going tomorrow at 12:30 pm at the Mechanics' Institute library for the book signing. I heard there will be available simple bistro lunch at The Cafe at noon before Clotilde arrives.

Well, unfortunately, I was unable to get to the city. Had a late meeting at school and then HAD TO get home to walk the dogs. By that time, I would have missed the whole thing...
So Lilia, you will have to enjoy yourself on my behalf today! I so wish I could get there! Have fun and say hi to Clotilde for me! _________________ L'appetit vient en mangeant. -Rabelais |

We had a great 2-1/2 hours with Clotilde today. She is so a charming, elegant and enjoyable to listen to. She gave a background of how C&Z came about - her days in California, going back to Paris and really getting into the cooking and writing. She also read two excerpts from her new book. The Pre-Catalan resonated with me as I remember taking my then 8 year old daughter for her birthday. She had the gaul to order a warm lobster salad!
First, we had a light bistro lunch of salad, goat cheese and pate served with cornichon and olives Nicoise. strawberries accompanied our small plat du jour. For those of us who can't have a french-style dejeuner sans vin, they served chardonnay, sauvignon blanc and merlot. I opted for the sauvignon blanc - you guessed it, mellowed my afternoon.
I will try to post these pictures of Clotilde here. Hope it works...........

I happened across this video on YouTube. I'm not sure who shot this amateur video, or if it is legitimately recorded, but here is the link showing Clotilde talking about her recent book.

To Clotilde and the moderators, if this isn't ok to post, don't hesitate to remove it. |

Thanks for sharing, msue - as far as I can see, it's quite okay to post _________________ Doing what you like is freedom

I haven't been here for a while and I didn't know about the new book. But soon ordered it and I hope it arrives in a few days.
We're going to Paris again in November so I'm really looking forward to revisiting our favourite restaurants and will make a visit to the L'Etoile d'Or Candy store and Jean-Charles Rochoux in the 6th. |

| Call me crazy - but it just made me laugh out aloud in the middle of a serious bookstore here in HongKong when I saw the cookbook proudly standing there! The girl behind me, who was studying the contents of the ' psychology' shelves, smiled mildly at me.... |
