My son's best friend, Michael, is the person Ben shared his foodie tendencies with at age 12. They took cooking classes together, invented different ice cream flavors, made sushi and had bar-be-que parties while their classmates were playing video games. Michael had the opportunity to hone his craft as an intern at Chez Panisse in Berkeley and Oliveto under Paul Bertolli, in Oakland.
Michael is now in Pittsburgh at the University, working on a PhD in philosophy. In his spare time, he cooks! (His bride of 3 months, China, is a restaurant critic at the Pittsburgh Post Gazette - a tough audience!)
Michael has recently started documenting his culinary work in this blog:

I thought you all would enjoy a peek. I have been following it from nearly the first entry and am really enjoying it now that he is posting the recipes! _________________ L'appetit vient en mangeant. -Rabelais

Looks like an interesting blog, Donna. Thanks for sharing.
I bookmarked it and will delve into it for a more thorough read in a few days.

Count me in, Donna! First, it looks like a fun, smart, great-photograph blog. Second, Pittsburgh is my hometown. Who know what gems of insights I will learn of the place I left so long ago.
Thanks! and YAY! STEELERS! (and...no...I haven't forgotten that we're supposed to get together...soon...i promise...) |

Wonderful, Erin!
Michael commented on an article in the NY Times a couple of weeks ago and mentioned his blog. He got 400 hits in one day after that! I'll have to e-mail him with your blog link! _________________ L'appetit vient en mangeant. -Rabelais |

Georgia - I do think you've forgotten to tell us how your trip to Ireland went!
