Who has been, and what do they think? I was there with my then 17-year old daughter and entered a picture in the Chicago SunTimes travel photo contest. It made the top ten list, and voting is open from now until Tuesday, May 19. If I win, the prize goes to charity: the Center for Disability and Elder Law here in Chicago. If I lose, I still like the picture. If you'd like to vote, I'm attaching the link. Mine is #4, sand dunes in namibia, and when you vote, you need to click on the picture, then on the word "vote" at the bottom of the pictures. love, Chicago Bear

Fantastic photo, CB!
I just voted for you, and it shows you in the lead!
I love photography too, so it is nice to discover someone else here with the same interest. |

Fabulous photo!!
Would have had to vote for you even if you weren't our favourite bear. That photo is superb.
Second choice I think is the one of the arch. The cloud formation captured is incredible.
Hope you win!
Please also send a few good thoughts through to the judges in the competition I have entered. It is closed voting so I can't attach a link. A bit nervous as to whether they will like my photo as it is very moody. Fingers crossed....... _________________ If you cannot feel your arteries hardening, eat more cheese. Bravo CB. I agreee with Debbie, yours was objectively the best - my second best being the Guatemala Kids.
But Please enlighten the provincial Middle Eastern girl: What Is Opry?

Simona, the word "opry" is just a provincial way of saying "opera"--but not opera as you might know it -- there is much more to the story--

Thank you very much SP. It was indeed enlightening (I read all the wikipedia article). Certainly an America most of non Americans don't really know. I remember two movies, one about Barbara Mandrell and the second one about Loretta Lynn. And the movie about Johnny Cash, whom of course I knew before and loved his songs.
No more war, lets sing Opry! |
