You may have heard that northern Illinois was awakened at 4AM this past Wednesday (KYH, you might have felt it). We thought that Orion had kicked the wall by his bed. Went back to sleep. Turned on the news at 7:30 to see the map with the epicenter 20 miles north of our house, a 3.8 magnitude. No damage; no injuries. Just grateful.
Orion, who is terrified of thunderstorms and fireworks and the beeps the electronics make after power outages, slept through the whole thing. _________________ "Food is an important part of a balanced diet..." Fran Leibowitz |

Not down here, Mmel'ours. We're too far east to feel a little burp like that from the New Madrid.
Of course, when the New Mardrid really lets go, everything west of the Big Muddy will fall into the Pacific Ocean.
