Dear Readers:
Kate Hopkins of The Accidental Hedonist has just announced nominations for a new round of Food Blog Awards for 2005.
Clotilde and her site have been nominated in two categories: Best Recipes and Best Writing.
Her friend, Pim, has received a nod for best single entry. You will recognize some of your other favorites in the site below:

Voting closes on January 18.
Cheers, and best wishes for 2006! |

Oh what PAIN! C&Z will no doubt win and deserves to for clotilde's steadfast blogging and charming way with words. But I am one of the few who actually nominated Molly's Madeleine and I desperately want to vote for her to encourage her.
If any of you haven't discovered her blog or read her story yet (hint: page back to the beginning and read from there) go and discover a new light in food that will one day be a beacon. http://mollysmadeleine.blogspot.com/ _________________ God writes a lot of comedy... the trouble is, he's stuck with so many bad actors who don't know how to play funny. -- Garrison Keillor |

Rainey, thanks for the notice!
One of the objectives of the awards, I am sure, is to bring notice to food blogs that others may not have seen. The point is to read first, then decide.
You are probably not alone in feeling torn between loyalties.
For example, eGullet is set against non-blog sites that were established by eGullet members. In that case, the large, international scope of eGullet, a society with tens of thousands of members, will probably lead to another victory because of the numbers who will vote.
I am sure your kind initiative will create new, faithful followers for a site that is certainly new to me. You never know what else will happen... |

The results are in at the following Web site:

Once more, Chocolate & Zucchini is the recipient of two awards, one for Best Writing, the other for recipes.
This bodes well for the cookbook that is in store for us all.
Congratulations, Clotilde! |

Deste, thanks for announcing C&Z's winning 2 categories.
Congratulations, Clotilde! No doubt in our minds that you are a winner as always. My husband, Tom, has been enjoying your blogs and look forward to following your restaurant recommendations next week. Like the rest of the C&Zers, looking forward to buying your book. _________________ "A man hath no better thing under the sun than to eat, and to drink, and to be merry." |
