Oh sad, my mom has that too it is painful!
For the first time in eight years I have not asked for anything for my kitchen! My mom just gave us a William-Sonoma gift card last month for our anniversary. I went wild and bought all of my latest wants then. Of course I still didn't buy a new mandoline. I am really living on the edge with mine, there is no guard and it slides all around. I love it but I think it is time I was less of a rebel before there is an accident. _________________ "It's watery....and yet there's a smack of ham."

I just got a nifty cheese grater (though I can also use it for veggies and such) and a milk frothy. Cappucinos, here I come! _________________ Don't forget the cannolis! |

My husband gave me exactly the present I was hoping for - a beer brewing kit. I discovered I really like beer earlier this year when we walked across Spain. A beer after 25k's each day was such a great thirst quencher. _________________ Barbara |

Amazing though it sounds, Santa read my entry on this forum and brought an 8 Kg green granite mortar and pestle all the way from Thailand to me on Christmas Day. It is wonderful to use; there is nothing it cannot do!!!
It is really sad though, to think that the area it came from has been so devastated by the giant tsunami. |

If you think you'll be baking again when you have fresh citrus, I could give you a recipe for a killer lemon cake! It's something we have every Easter because nothing says "Easter" to me like the lovely spring flavors of asparagas & lemon.
Lemme know if you're interested. |

Rainey, the closest we get to "fresh" citrus in this part of the world are those little decorative orange trees in pots!! I'm intrigued by anything lemon or asparagus 9best asparagus for me is (and we do get this fresh in sprin) with a simple lemony hollandaise. mmmmmmmmmmm _________________ Vivant Linguae Mortuae!! |
