There are so many great places in Hobart! Here's just a couple:
The best bakery in town is Jackman and McRoss - so, so fantastic!
57 Hampden Road, Battery Point. They excel in both sweet and savoury numbers and should be patronised a number of times to sample their full range.
Machine Laundry Cafe is a good breakfast spot, though it can get very busy on a Saturday...12 Salamanca Square, Hobart.
My favourite breakfast cafe however is Kafe Kara. They used to make eggs en concotte (I'm not sure if they still do) which were the best I've ever had. The decor borders a little on the corporate side but the staff were lovely and the food just magnificent. They were also always prepared to top up my teapot with more hot water when I lingered over breakfast doing my homework, requiring more cups of tea. 119 Liverpool Street, Hobart.
For a fantastic flat bread and dip combination, Sirens is unbeatable. I've often dreamt of their bread, trying to work up the courage to ask for the recipe. 655 Victoria Street, Hobart.
Enjoy! |
