If I could choose one, that would be the 7th or 6th arrondisement (okay, that's two of my favorite locations). Besides having a Fauchon, the 7th has Le Notre on rue Cler, Jean-Paul Hevin Chocolatier is on La-Motte Picquet, there's Michel Chaudon on rue de l'Universite (another chocolatier), the food market on rue Cler, the open market on rue de Saxe, myriad of places on rue du Bac , La Grand Epicerie at the grand magazin Bon Marche, a very good boulangerie "Poujauran" at rue Jean Nicot. You'll find more and discover more when you walk around.
The 6th, I would find Pierre Herme (the patisier extra-ordianire whose chocolates are also excellent), Laduree has a salon de the and patissier near the Cafe des Deux Maggot and Cafe Flore. There is a street market on Rue de Bucci/Rue de Seine and numerous places too many to mention.
Good luck on the search! It would be a lot of fun! _________________ "A man hath no better thing under the sun than to eat, and to drink, and to be merry." |
