For those considering a trip to San Sebastian, I highly recommend Hotel Niza. Central location along the beach, very bright, clean rooms, and a helpful staff. They have their own cafe with al fresco seating, which makes a nice place for a quick drink.
The tapas restaurants in the historic center are the highlight in dining, of course, but I also highly, highly recommend La Perla. We happened upon this restaurant in need of a quick meal when we first arrived at our hotel. It's almost directly across from the hotel along the Paseo de la Concha, has amazing views of the beach, and offered one of the best meals we had during our trip. We came to San Sebastian from France and were delighted by the very inexpensive cost of food and wine as compared to what we found in France. We returned to La Perla several times for their tapas and their al fresco seating, but our sit-down meal was by far the best. You won't forget it. Enjoy! |
