I read this in a recent school newsletter, and liked it ....
Christmas is also associated with family events and with the giving of presents. Even in a materialistic age, often it is not the expensive Christmas presents that bring people the most happiness but rather it is those that come with heartfelt meaning. In preparing for Christmas it is worth thinking how we can give a gift that truly comes from the heart. I recently read a quotation attributed to Oren Arnold that described gifts that we could think of giving. He writes:
To your enemy, forgiveness
To an opponent, tolerance
To a friend, your heart
To a customer, service
To all, charity
To every child, a good example
To yourself, respect. _________________ Doing what you like is freedom
Liking what you do is happiness

Lovely! I'm going to pass that on as well. _________________ God writes a lot of comedy... the trouble is, he's stuck with so many bad actors who don't know how to play funny. -- Garrison Keillor |
