Griffin, write your blog about museum guides!

Clotilde wrote her blog about food and recipes and ended up having a cookbook published. You could write blog-sized entries about parts or collections of museums & galleries, add some Google ads to make some money out of it, and see where it takes you.

I agree with the comments of everyone. You should be blogging or writing guide books. Books with a sense of humour and approachability would be your motto I think.

I have found the most fabulous shop for you Griffin. It is near Luxembourg Gardens and specialises in original and repro costumes from the different eras. Absolutely incredible. My nose/palm prints are on the glass windows a number of times.

BTW. Kudos to you. Without people like yourself willing to take on the drudgery of note taking, many people such as myself would not have been able to complete university. Even though it is not the best paid, most regular work, it is a calling and not many people have the talent/skill to actually do it well.


Mobile phones..... must say I am one of those people who never knows their own number, and half the time my mobile is in the bottom of my bag uncharged....... Have really gotten out of the habit of using a mobile phone since being in france. In Australia my ear was glued to it for work and for leisure. I have a prepaid card, and generally I get a warning to say I need to use my credit before it expires....... then I quickly call people for a few days using the mobile, before forgetting about it again for another few months....

It's been interesting to read this conversation, given where I am in life: about to finish my Ph.D. in bioengineering and move across the country to be with my boyfriend in a city where I don't have a job, and don't even really know what I want to do. I'm in the peculiar situation of thinking that I know where I want to be in 2-5 years (coming back to academia to be a professor), but I have no idea what I want to do now, other than NOT work in another academic research lab, because that's all I've done so far. One reason I haven't really looked for jobs in Boston (my future home - I bought the plane tickets!) is that I don't know how to look for a job whose description is, more or less, "something research-related that isn't what I do now..."
