Why do you have to choose?
Seattle is a great museum town....just thought I'd add that in. _________________ "It's watery....and yet there's a smack of ham."

Griffin, write your blog about museum guides!
Clotilde wrote her blog about food and recipes and ended up having a cookbook published. You could write blog-sized entries about parts or collections of museums & galleries, add some Google ads to make some money out of it, and see where it takes you. _________________ Doing what you like is freedom

Yay for Griffin!!!!!!! Just a little cheer of support there.......
I agree with the comments of everyone. You should be blogging or writing guide books. Books with a sense of humour and approachability would be your motto I think.
I have found the most fabulous shop for you Griffin. It is near Luxembourg Gardens and specialises in original and repro costumes from the different eras. Absolutely incredible. My nose/palm prints are on the glass windows a number of times.
BTW. Kudos to you. Without people like yourself willing to take on the drudgery of note taking, many people such as myself would not have been able to complete university. Even though it is not the best paid, most regular work, it is a calling and not many people have the talent/skill to actually do it well.
Mobile phones..... must say I am one of those people who never knows their own number, and half the time my mobile is in the bottom of my bag uncharged....... Have really gotten out of the habit of using a mobile phone since being in france. In Australia my ear was glued to it for work and for leisure. I have a prepaid card, and generally I get a warning to say I need to use my credit before it expires....... then I quickly call people for a few days using the mobile, before forgetting about it again for another few months.... _________________ If you cannot feel your arteries hardening, eat more cheese. I probably shouldn't ask and you probably shouldn't tell me, but do they have a website?! _________________ Confusion comes fitted as standard. |

I don't know..... to be honest, I don't trust myself to know......
I shall take a photo of it next time I pass and email it to you.
THink it is best for our respective bank balances (or lack thereof) if we don't know the website address...... _________________ If you cannot feel your arteries hardening, eat more cheese. I prefer to think of myself as a realist.... I know that I will spend money in there on things which I do not need.
But yes, you are right.... I am too chicken to go in without a responsible adult with me.. _________________ If you cannot feel your arteries hardening, eat more cheese. If you can, drink more red wine. Diet is just "die" with a "t" on the end. Exercise is walking into the kitchen. |

Griffin, I'm going to Paris next week... I could always check for you! Though I claim absolutely no responsibility for the consequences. |

Hi Rachel! Just a quick aside here--thanks so much for recommending China Pearl for dim sum--super crazy place and one of the waitresses hit on me!!! _________________ Vivant Linguae Mortuae!! |

David, I'm so glad it didn't disappoint! And the waitress obviously has very good taste.
Okay, back on topic... |

| It's been interesting to read this conversation, given where I am in life: about to finish my Ph.D. in bioengineering and move across the country to be with my boyfriend in a city where I don't have a job, and don't even really know what I want to do. I'm in the peculiar situation of thinking that I know where I want to be in 2-5 years (coming back to academia to be a professor), but I have no idea what I want to do now, other than NOT work in another academic research lab, because that's all I've done so far. One reason I haven't really looked for jobs in Boston (my future home - I bought the plane tickets!) is that I don't know how to look for a job whose description is, more or less, "something research-related that isn't what I do now..." |

Exactly. Me too... mainly because my bank manager will drag me around the bike sheds and duff me up... that and I'll owe the bank my whole life - which they will insist on!!!
Rachel,
Is that the responsibility for you spending money or me following after and spending money I haven't got (Mais monsieur le gendarme, je suis le frere longue perdu du Bill Gates. Vraiment!)
David,
Typical! Leave you alone for five minutes and fabulous women are all over you!!!! Er, how do you do that again?!!
srk,
With brains the size of Russia and having finished a PhD in bioengineering ... you could always do some home bioengineering and make bio-art. You could be the world's first bio-artist. If I am lucky I could just about be the world's first bio-art historian... that is only vaguely human... heh, heh, heh! You could research something different but related. _________________ Confusion comes fitted as standard. |
