hello there!...I'm hoping because you're reading this you might be able to tell me something about the artist....the following painting I find quite beautiful..calming..I could gaze at it for ages...plus I doth love chocolate!

| Madame, unfortunately all I was able to find out about the artist is that he was Spanish (but you already knew that), was primarily a poster designer and illustrator and his dates were 1889-1954. That poster looks as if it's from the 1920s and, judging from the name of the chocolate manufacturer, it was made in (or at least for a company in) Barcelona... which would make sense as that was a big centre of Art Nouveau! (In fact I think Gaudi designed a house for a Mr Amatller... perhaps the chocolate man... but I could be remembering that wrong.) |
