It would appear the singer is gravely ill..I've read reports he is unconscious...
I've been reading a variety of quotes..his thoughts on music over the years..this one I found particularly appealing:
At the age of 4. I jump on the table. I am a little tenor. And I begin to sing, La Donna e Mobile.
Those notes he could reach oh so beautifully...
A wondrous thing to be around during The Time of Luciano..
as we soared with him...beyond for a while perhaps _________________ "I've never accepted the external appearance of things as the whole truth. The world is much more elaborate than the nerves of our eye can tell us." - James Gleeson |

Here are the lyrics the sophisticated little tenor sang:
La Donna e Mobile (Woman is Fickle)
Woman is flighty
Like a feather in the wind,
She changes her voice and her mind.
Always sweet,
Pretty face,
In tears or in laughter, she is always lying.
Always miserable
Is he who trusts her,
He who confides in her his unwary heart!
Yet one never feels
Fully happy
Who on that bosom does not drink love. |

Buon viaggio dear singer...his manager has announced his death...
As easy as anything I can picture him on stage..eyes closed..'n the music...taking us beyond for a while...
typing this with Tom Waits singing "Jersey Girl" in the background...
how I love the diversity of sound..

Just read the news in the paper. So sad. He really did have the most amazing voice and a huge stage presence.
One quote was that it all started with Caruso and ended with Pavarotti. Have to agree that even though there are some fabulous opera singers out there at present, none are quite the same as Pavarotti.
Let us see if his children (with his second wife) grow up to have his amazing gift. _________________ If you cannot feel your arteries hardening, eat more cheese. If you can, drink more red wine. Diet is just "die" with a "t" on the end. Exercise is walking into the kitchen. |

I was listening to a story on NPR just yesterday saying he was hospitalized and not doing well. By last evening the story of his death was on the news.
What a beautiful voice. It will live on recordings forever and keep his memory alive as well. _________________ God writes a lot of comedy... the trouble is, he's stuck with so many bad actors who don't know how to play funny. -- Garrison Keillor |

| We saw him perform on the beach in Miami some years ago - the venue was actually ON the beach - the air traffic was diverted for the concert. It was magical. I cried. I need to listen to him tomorrow morning. |
