to Shelley and all the strawberry lovers: we have here in my country a long, very long strawberry season ( december to end of may), and so we got inventive. first , to keep them more than one -two days, never wash but the amount you use. they keep better , as water can contaminate them and they get mushy. But what I like best, is to prepare batches of strawberry coulis, for the sad seven or so months we don't have them. Of course, smaller and less good looking fruits are also good for that use, or , or the "leftovers" of first class fruits. I just puree them in the magimix, no sugar added , and freeze in small portion. I use it( I add sugar after defreezing if needed) as a topping for cheese cake, dark chocolate cake, ice cream, you name it. And I enjoy the Ohh and he wows in those baren month without strawberrie. Not very original idea but it works.
