Hi everyone:
I will be in Paris on November 1st. I am planning to cook some Mexican and some Japanese food while there. Can anyone direct me to a part of the city where there are authentic Mexican and Japanese stores? I am assuming that, similar to the States, different ethnic grocery stores are found in certain parts of town. If not, just tell me of a couple good sources for Mexican and Japanese produce. Thanks. |

| The 1st arrondissement is the best place for Japanese food shops - they're clustered around rue Ste-Anne and rue des Petits Champs. As for Mexican, I'm afraid I don't know of any specialist shops, but you might try Izrael (rue Francois Miron, in the 4th) which seems to have foods from every corner of the earth. Hope that helps! |

| This is an ongoing question for me. Does anyone know if there is a European equivalent to American sites like http://www.gatheringguide.com/ec/caterers.html? I am looking for a listing of restaurants, chefs, caterers, etc. But for France and Italy especially. Is there one? I haven't found it yet. |
