Thank you, Barbara--again a happy face! That scarf must be quite a garment, I actually looked to see if I could find one to look at on eBay, or military surplus store! (Nope)
I certainly did not mean to make you discuss your underthings (or lack of) online! The camisole will stay beautiful for next dinner. |

Gingerpale I shall ask Diane where they can be bought. I also have the winter one which is dark green and was second hand when she bought it. You can see a better view of the summer one in the picnic photo. I'm wearing it around my neck. _________________ Barbara |

Well great news in no increase in the three existing secondary tumors on my right lung. Which is a good reason to complete the surgery which is now booked for next Tuesday 26th. They don't know how much lung they will remove but too much and I'll need to adjust my life a little. Like only half marathons without hills. _________________ Barbara |

Barbara-
We just had lunch last month with someone my husband used to work with who had a third of each lung removed. He looks marvelous genuinely marvelous! and if we hadn't known that there wouldn't be a reason to suspect it!
As it turns out, these are brave people they're also remodeling their kitchen and a bathroom too. I ran into the wife and we re-connected in a home store looking at counter samples.
Warmest resilient old broad wishes going out to you in a stream. _________________ God writes a lot of comedy... the trouble is, he's stuck with so many bad actors who don't know how to play funny. -- Garrison Keillor |

A friend of mine, a runner, and into his mid 40's then had a third of his right lung removed. His doctor told him not to be to upset though because as a runner---he'd be only operating at 120% of a non runner with 100% of their tissue! GREAT news about the lungs! No growth is a GOOD THING!
I took a walk with a friend today who had part of one lung removed about a year ago. We live in a VERY hilly neighborhood and she got a little out of breath - but so did I! She's been doing a pulmonary rehab program - to great success.
I'm sending you ARMLOADS of gerberas and wishes that you'll fly through the surgery and subsequent recovery. Wish I lived close enough to bring some soup by!
You GO Girl! We will all be with you inspirit on the 26th! _________________ L'appetit vient en mangeant. -Rabelais |

Fabulous news Barbara!
One of the older gentlemen that I worked with in the Army had most of one lung and part of the other removed due to illness (cannot remember exactly what but not cancer). He was amazing. Walked everywhere, albeit more slowly, but did not have to make many adjustments at all.
The body is amazing at overcoming and adapting to change.
All good wishes for tuesday. _________________ If you cannot feel your arteries hardening, eat more cheese. If you can, drink more red wine. Diet is just "die" with a "t" on the end. Exercise is walking into the kitchen. |

Thank you everyone for your good wishes. It is good to hear such positive stories and I plan on adding to that list. I'm computerless for the moment while mine is in for an upgrade. It's due back at 2PM today. I think I feel like Swirling Notions felt before collecting Noe. Without a computer I've been doing a bit of book reading though which is a good thing. _________________ Barbara |

| Oh Barbara I wish you could skip a few hours here and there (to be added back on later, of course!) But since the day is here I'll think of you as I water my plants, shine up my windows, all the little positive actions of this day headed your way! |

this just in from the delightful Bryan....
Good Morning all,
The very lovely Barbara has just come out of surgery and according to the surgeon all is well in the State of Denmark. They had to remove another lobe, however her respiratory tests prior to surgery indicate a good ongoing lung function and coupled with an uncanny ability to select and drink good wine, does it get any better?
I will be able to see her in an hour or two, and will update any important comment from the patient in due course, though I expect her to be talking like a politician for the first 4 or 5 hours. Keep those good thoughts ..
cheers
Bryan
joyous tears at 9.10am ~ isn't it a wondrous process sending loving energy out there...I'm imagining the lass (avec Bryan )strolling through vineyards at dawn....
