I just heard that in addition to breathing on his own, he's beginning to move limbs.
I'm so pleased for Israel and hope it's the beginning of a profound recovery. _________________ God writes a lot of comedy... the trouble is, he's stuck with so many bad actors who don't know how to play funny. -- Garrison Keillor

Rainey - I know he's a contoversial figure to many, but I think you're right, it is an encouraging sign to most of us here in Israel. I just read something about him having a reaction to painful stimuli, which I suppose is good, too. His involvement in politics is done, obviously.
I must say, I do feel strange reading medical details regarding my prime minister, but Isuppose this truly is a case when the public has a right to know.
We're about to have a general election (late March), hopefully it'll lead to a better future for us and for our neighbors in the Middle East.

I, too, was heartened by the news.
I suppose there are cynical politicians everywhere who hope he doesn't pull through, but I think he is the only hope for peace in the Middle East right now. It's a terribly complex and fraught situation, but he has been forging a coalition that certainly seemed headed in the right direction.
We saw Syriana on Saturday night and it just brought home to me the convoluted complexity of the situation in the Middle East - what with monarchies and oil and tribal conflicts. It's a gripping film and very thought provoking.
I certainly hope all continues on a positive course from here on for Sharon. _________________ L'appetit vient en mangeant. -Rabelais
