Is My Paris Better Than Yours?

My Paris Is Better Than Yours

If you happen upon the May issue of Budget Travel magazine — which should land on US newsstands today — and leaf your way to page 120, you will find a piece that I wrote, called “My Paris Is Better Than Yours”.

It is the second part of their “My [insert-city-name-here] Is Better Than Yours” series, which started last fall with a piece by Charlie Suisman about New York. The approach for this series is resolutely personal, giving voice to one person’s love and passion for his/her city.

And my piece is, of course, all about food in Paris! Where to eat it (“EAT”), where to buy it (“SHOP”) and what else can be done with, around or about it (“PLAY”). It is illustrated by Marie Hennechart‘s gorgeous photography and it holds as many of my favorite things as I could possibly fit in there — and believe me I tried!

Note: For those of you who do not live in the US, the article should appear online in early May — I will link to it when it does. For the others, I recommend you purchase this fine piece of magazine edition of course!

Update: And appear it did! Here’s a link to the article.

I rushed out to the bookstore yesterday to find this but alas! they still had the April issue. I will keep checking though and at least I know that they carry the magazine!

  • i would absolutely love to get a copy, are you sure they’re not selling it at W.H. smith or Brentanno’s?

  • Creampuff

Just saw the issue on the magazine stand at my local chain drug store, so it’s already out there.

My subscription copy hasn’t come yet, though.

Looks like a great article. Not a lot of surprises for regular readers, but it’s nice to have all the info in one place.

If you live near Oakland, California, I found a copy at Long’s Drugstore, 51st and Broadway.

  • I received my copy yesterday. Congrats! It looks like a useful article, and your photo is lovely. Now, if only I could make it to Paris this year…

  • Traci

Congratulations, Clotilde. I’ll go out and buy the magazine today.

I enjoyed the article & then came to your website. I loved that you mentioned the Musee Jacquemart-Andre, my daughter & I came across that gem of a museum last summer while just walking around. I loved the personal look into that couple’s lives and the salon de the was so absolutely wonderful. I think it may have been the highlight of my trip. It was such a small, personal sort of a place. I loved the chocolate & the raspberries!! Oh, I need to plan another trip.

  • JustMe

I finally got hold of this article. It was wonderful and the photography was great, too. Some day…maybe some day….

  • HAH! I felt like a true dunce when I saw your article (which was fab) and then realized I hvae you marked as one of my favorites at Flickr. So, here’s to all of your talents.
