Not really...
I've always thought it rather ugly and out of place.
Enfin bon, les gouts et le couleurs...

When I was a student at the Sorbonne, about 5 years before you were born Clotilde, we used to call the SacreCoeur "the big whipped cream wedding cake" . I don't like whipped cream wedding cakes. But I love Paris so much that eventually I love Sacre coeur too.
He's one of the family...

Funny my beloved Sacré-Coeur should get such mixed reviews! It is far and away my favorite Parisian monument...

I used to like it too... when I was in primary school, and getting to see Paris from up high was a real treat.
I have to admit, I haven't been to the top since 5th grade.
Now I just find it pretty kitsch

I love it too! I love spending lazy afternoons sitting on the stairs and watching people. We were there the day you posted it... my husband and I like to pose (or make funny faces) for other people's pictures, they, of course, don't realize that we are in the picture.

Clotilde,
Paris is the most amazing place I have ever experienced. And now to get new perspectives on it, as well as so much more, from you -- that's just the most lovely gift.
Merci!

I love it too, but I must confess that the Eiffel Tour is my favorite. Corny, predictable whatever, when I see it from a window, or in the distance when walking anywhere in the city, I feel like a 6 year old that has just been handed a cotton candy (barbapapa). And another cool thing about Le Sacre Coeur, it can be seen off in the distance from my daughters bedroom. I love that too!

Yes, yes! A trip to Paris would just seem incomplete to me without stopping by Sacré-Coeur, no matter how often I go. And the view of Paris as the sun is setting...

my beloved Opera House in Sydney...that exquisite form that seems to be ready to set sail...I melt into it so very very easily...Scare-Coeur felt like an amazing wedding cake..gently placed on that hilltop..a cake for the giant wedding couple..
