The name of this cocktail made me curious enough to look it up:
Falling Leaves
1 oz. Clear Creek Pear Eau De Vie
2 oz. Trimbach Reisling
1/4 oz. Honey Syrup (equal parts of honey and water)
1/2 oz. Marie Brizard Orange Curacao
1 dash Peychauds Bitters
Garnish: Star Anise
Measure all ingredients into a mixing glass, add ice, and shake well. Strain into a cocktail glass, and garnish with the star anise. Serve cold, or allow to warm slightly for fuller flavor.
Quite elaborate! I hope it tasted as beautiful, and the anise was not a problem for a known licorice hater. (Maybe that's where the "falling" part happened!)

That is so strange, because the recipe I found was so very different:
3/4 ounce calvados (apple brandy)
3/4 ounce sweet vermouth
1/4 ounce dry vermouth
dash brandy
squeeze lemon peel

The second recipe is for Fallen Leaves. That is why it is so different, Maggie.
